Origin Pool Description

If you travel to the very centre of the Perenar region, you will start noticing a strange misty smoke covering the ground up to ankle-height, and eventually come across a strange hollow in the floor, brimming with curling smoke and a strange type of water-that-isn't-water. Dipping a hand in is not advised, as those who have done so generally grow claws or scales or some other mutation. Although the pool is small, it occasionally bubbles up and forms matter from nothing - a feat that even the most powerful of sorcerers cannot manage. This is where all new regions come from, and why the innermost rim of Perenar is identified as thousands of years older than the areas furthest from the Origin Pool.
One explorer once described the Origin Pool as "a fountain - not of water, but of world."
The multicoloured swirling mass that is the Origin Pool is strangely alluring. Lesser creatures who stay close for too long will sometimes feel themselves inexplicably drawn in as if hypnotised.
