Peacock Forest Description

The ground underfoot is soft and springy with moss. Rocks are covered in it. Tree roots are obscured by it. The entire forest seems to have an eerily quiet atmosphere; whether it's the green hazy light cast down by the trees or the fact that this place somehow seems eternally summery and warm, no one is quite sure. But the intense calm isn't oppressive. It's merely sleepy, untouched. A pristine green maze where the gods rest at noontime.
No birds sing in the branches. Small mammals wander in the open, sometimes found sleeping among tree roots without fear of being attacked even though it's a fair possibility. There are no clearings; the birch-like trees are almost evenly spaced, and the emerald light that filters through their leaves provides an unreal lull.
