Through a Blizzard
Milen stepped through the deep snow, her feet sinking in until the powder reached her knees. She cursed under her breath.
"All of this damn powder...it slows me down. What I need is some good hard snow...not this powder crap...."
Milen shook her head to clear the powder that was starting to collect on it. The winds blew considerably harder then normal, and it was freezing, but to Milen, it seemed like an ordinary day thanks to her thick fur and scales.
After walking for a few more minutes, Milen sighed.
"I can't fly in this weather, but I need food...I guess I have to hunt on foot."
Milen pressed her wings to her body, making it seem like she didn't have any, and began loping through the deep snow, bounding high above it with each jump. She sniffed the air as she went, her nose trained to detect any animal lying unsuspecting in the snow.

Re: Through a Blizzard
Gray swung her legs from a tree branch, doing this to clear the snow from landing on it while also keeping her warm. Why she'd travelled to the south she still didn't know but she loved to explore. Her grey furred boots covered her feet and protected them from the cold breeze hitting the back of her legs and also her skinny denim jeans tucked straight into them not even giving the cold a chance to attack.
Rubbing her stripey glove covered hands together, she failed to generate kinetic energy and grumbled to herself, placing them back on the branch. Squinting in the snowstorm, she spotted something moving towards her at high speed. She flinched, ready to move if it went for her, yet it jumped straight under her branch and loped through the snow.
Leaping down, she looked at the footprints. "Woah..what kinda prints are they?!" She exclaimed, bending down to get a closer inspection. "Well, I guess this'll keep me moving out of the snow" She muttered, argueing with herself as she decided to follow the creature, her curiousity drawing her.

Re: Through a Blizzard
An ear prodded through a small covering of snow. It twisted slightly, listening intently, and then shot straight back down again. There was a moment's silence.
A purple shape exploded out of the ground, showering ice and snow in all directions, and Lyle bounced energetically over several piles of snow before deciding it was much too cold to muck about. She paused for a moment, shaking herself, and her fur stood on end so that she was now about one and a half times her normal size. She then settled into a pace-keeping series of leaps and bounds, nose in the air to scent anything other than snow. She'd been lost out here for days, but that didn't seem to do anything to her spirits.

Re: Through a Blizzard
Milen skidded to a halt as her nose picked up an unfamiliar scent. She swivvled her head in all directions and squinted her eyes. She couldn't see anything through the thick blizzard. She shrugged and slowed her pace to a walk, her feet draging through the ground now.
She walked a few more paces before stopping yet again. A new scent filled her nose. It was behind her. She hadn't smelled it before. A snarl reached her lips and her ears pressed flat against her head. She turned around and stood up to her full 7'2" height. She spread the wings protruding from her shoulderblades plus her main ones.
"Who's there?" She snarled, her lips curling up revealing razor like teeth.
While she stood there, her nose was also sniffing out the scent she had smelled before. It was getting closer to her...

Re: Through a Blizzard
Gray stopped as the creature spoke, the blizzard was so bad at the point, it could be anywhere around her and she wouldn't know. Last time she saw it, it was infront position so thats where she faced. "I'm Gray, and I pose no threat" She said calmly, knowing how touchy people can be. "Sorry I was following you but i'd never seen your kind of footprints before so decided to see what you were. I'm quite old you see, there's not many things I haven't seen." She explained ironically, seen as her voice gave her a young appearance, yet it was only to match her 17 year old body. It was her 3rd regeneration and she quite liked it and she'd managed to hold onto it for a few hundred years and planned to further so she couldn't take any risks with dangerous or mysterious beings.
Re: Through a Blizzard
Milen growled slightly as the thing spoke, but then it said that is posed no threat to her. It also said that it had not seen her kind of footprints before. She snorted and began walking towards the voice. After walking only a couple of paces she could see the outline of what looked like a human. she stopped where she was, knowing that it could also see her and her 7'2" bluk. She folded her wings tightly to her back.
"What race are you...? Because you look like a human to my eyes..."
(I am assuming that she looks like a human, tell me if i'm wrong)

Re: Through a Blizzard
Lyle kept up her bouncy, springing movement for several minutes. She was definitely going straight. That was what you were supposed to do, right? Go straight on until you find a landmark? She paused for a moment, shaking snow and ice from her fur, and then froze (not literally!). Lyle could hear voices.
She perked up her ears and sat on her hind legs like a rabbit, and slowly hopped around on the spot as if her ears were a satellite dish.
Lyle decided on a direction and sprang forwards energetically. Just as she thought it was getting louder, her paw gave way beneath her into a patch of deep, soft snow. It snagged there and the rest of her body tumbled forwards before she eventually landed at the feet of what looked like a human...
Not that she could know that, however, as the impact with the person's shins had knocked her out cold.
Edit: added a size chart to each of my character sheets so you know how big they are xD I figured there might be some confusion since without already knowing you might think Lyle is like, waist height or something. She's teensie. xD

Re: Through a Blizzard
Milen snorted as another thing came into view. It was a meer shadow to her, but she saw it hit the human's (for that was what she was assuming it was for the time being) legs. It didn't move after that. Milen took a tentative step forwards and then another. With each step the human came more into focus.
She looked about 17 but she had said that she was a lot older. It didn't look or sound like that, meaning that this wasn't an ordinary human. The thing that had hit the human's shins was about the size of one of Milen's feet. It was a tiny little thing. Milen bent down to look at it, still staying a little bit away from the "human" just in case she frightened her.
Milen looked at the creature and saw that it had been knocked out due to the impact with the girl's legs. Milen bent down to the snow and let out a long breath, melting it a bit. Using a little bit of magic, she held the water in an orb, heating it from the inside so it wouldn't freeze. She splashed the water little by little onto the small creature, trying to get it to wake up.

Re: Through a Blizzard
Gray bit her tongue as she was accused of being a human. "I'm no human, i'm a.." She spat, until she was interrupted by something crashing into her feet. She wobbled forwards and back yet maintained her balance. Looking down at it, it was knocked out. She stood back and bend down, looking at it. "huh?" She let out, confused. She looked up as Milen walked forwards to try and wake it up.
What is that... She thought Some sort of dragon creature? Looking back down, she focused on the creature as it seemed to be coming around.

Re: Through a Blizzard
Lyle sputtered as the cold water hit her face. She leapt to her feet in a surprisingly agile flip forwards, and stared up at the two beings who were now towering over her.
"Hey! Wow! You guys are huge! You're bigger than my cousin Pal! Are you a dragon? You look kind of like a dragon. My dad says dragons are supposed to be huge, but I saw one in the sky the other day for the first time and it was only the size of a human. Oh! Oh, are you a human?" she babbled, voice pitch wavering throughout. The speed of her speech was pretty damn fast, too. She stuck her hind end in the air and lowered her head, as if she were a dog wanting to play, and then waggled her tail a few times before using the built-up energy to spring straight at the human. Unless fended off, she would land on, and cling to, the human's side. And then she would attempt to climb to shoulder height.
That snow was cold.

Re: Through a Blizzard
Gray blinked a few dumb times as the creature spoke extremely fast. She nearly collapsed backwards as it leapt at her but she helped it with her arm so she could sit on her shoulder. "No i'm not a human." She spat soon after, breaking her seemingly happy attitude. "I'm a..shapeshifter" She lied. Well, she didn't know if either of these were working for the Judoon and didn't like to give away her true identity to complete strangers. "And my name's Gray. Yours?" She asked, turning her head to look at the hyperactive rabbit-like creature and then looking at the dragon.
Re: Through a Blizzard
The fluffy, big-eared creature grinned suddenly and widely - leaving a bizarre impression, to say the least. She stood on her hind legs on the, er... shapeshifter's shoulders, and saluted as if she were addressing an officer in an army.
"The name's Lyle. I'm a Fenx! My mother kind of thought I'd be bigger than this, but my brother's the size of a sandmouse so I think I'm just right." She lost her balance and fell backwards, plopping into a snowbank and staying there. Though she was invisible due to the fact that she was now in a Lyle-shaped hole about 100 centimetres deep, a dizzy giggle escaped from the hole. The effect could be rather amusing.

Re: Through a Blizzard
Milen let out a growling chuckle as Lyle fell into the snow. She surely was a hyperactive ball of fuzz to say the least. Milen turned to the shapeshifter.
"I'm sorry for accusing you of being a human. My name is Milen, and I am a dragon, sort of. My father was a dragon and my mother was...well...something else. I never knew her. I hatched and came out like this."
She indicated the upper half of her body. She realized she was still bending down and stood up to her full height. She looked and the hole that Lyle had made whilst falling into the snow and chuckled again.

Re: Through a Blizzard
Gray smiled at Milen before turning to see the hole Lyle had made. She let out a humoured laugh and put her hands on her hips. "So, what are you two doing here? I'm guessing your not used to the snow?" She guessed, trying to get a better perspective on these two. She hardly trusted them as it was, she never did anyone, yet seemed to be quite good at telling when people was lieing. She could tell they weren't lieing yet but what was a name and a species? If they proved to be correct about where they were from and it was somewhere the Judoon weren't based she might actually learn to trust them. These two seemed quite alright and they might prove well as friends while she was here. Yet thats all she did. Make friends then run. if only she could stay in one place with friends. She let out a sigh, yet to go with her thoughts so she tried to pull an expression to seem she sighed because she was waiting too long for a reply. This pulled her back to what was happened as her thoughts blew back to the base of her mind.
Re: Through a Blizzard
Lyle sat up and grinned widely. "I'm from somewhere near the source of Leigris River. My family told me not to tell anyone where it is, though, so you adventurer-types are gonna have to find the source pool yourselves." She grinned. "I bet you're from space! Are you a space alien? You don't smell like a Perenar native. Come to think of it, neither do you," she pointed at the dragon-like creature.
By 'space alien', of course, she meant a creature from another world, brought here through a portal. No one native to Perenar had been higher than the stratosphere yet - perhaps because Perenar itself was big enough to warrant continuous exploration, and kept explorers occupied too long to warrant a look into space.
However, it was up to these two newcomers to interpret what she meant by these words. Maybe she was more accurate than she thought.

Re: Through a Blizzard
Milen hesitated to answer the question that Gray had asked. Lyle answered it straight out and then asked if she and Gray were "space aliens". Milen chuckled.
"If you mean 'not from this world', then yes. I'm not from here. I teleported here form my own world."
At the mention of her own world Milen's face seemed to lose its former happiness. She did not like to talk about her old world, or the events that occurred in it. She looked to Gray and remembered the question she had asked.
"I'm pretyt used to the snow, there was plenty of it where I came from, but I wouldn't know about now, I've been gone for a few years."
